Vintage 1920's ADAMS CHINA "Brocade" Retro Style Titian Ware. Pattern Description: Titian ware, Ivory Background, Orange, Gold, Blue & Purple Multicolor Floral Band, Smooth Edge, Black Trim Lines. Made in Tunstall, England. This pattern is discontinued. Maker's Marks: This set has the block "Est 1657-ROYAL-ADAMS-IVORY-ENGLAND" back stamp that was used beginning in 1896 and well into the 20th century. It was used with and without the name: 'TUNSTALL', in this case without. Then the name of the type of ware, such as "Imperial Stone Ware" "Calyx Ware" or "Titian Ware" etc. is added. Titian Ware is this pattern's type. Next is the pattern name, "BROCADE" followed by "Rd. 708800", the British Registration Number for this pattern. Registration #708800 was issued in 1925. The platters and plates also have impressed numbers/marks, many which would appear to be dates from 1924, 1925 or 1926. See photos for specifics. Condition: Fine for their age. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Crazing exists on most pieces, which is common for English Ironstone. Expect slight to moderate shelf wear and utensil marks. See photos.
